Q) What’s your role in advising customers?
Although Travel Management Companies are ultimately the primary resource for corporations, my role is to keep corporate travel and procurement teams apprised of Travelport products and services. By learning more about a travel program, I can provide relevant content updates and ultimately increase the traveler experience.
Q) What have you learned recently when helping customers?
Travelport has a great story and our corporate customers are interested in hearing more about our differentiators. Since Southwest is the second largest US carrier in terms of numbers of travelers,; I’ve learned that educating our corporate customers about our exclusive ability to add a Southwest Rapid Rewards frequent flyer number can translate into efficiencies and cost savings for corporations. This one item has lead into great discussions about airline relationships, industry dynamics and Travelport’s platform that is so much more than a GDS.
Q) What do you do when not servicing Travelport customers?
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and children. We’re big fans of NC State University football and basketball, so sporting events seems to take up some part of our weekends. Since we live in Raleigh, North Carolina, we’re lucky to have access to a growing number of amazing family centric venues, including parks, lakes and cultural centers. When I have downtime I enjoy reading and planning my next vacation!
Q) And your most recent favorite travel location?
Each summer my family vacations on Bald Head Island off the North Carolina coast. It’s only accessible by ferry and there are no cars on the island. We drive around in golf carts, go to the beach, ride bikes around the small island and visit Old Baldy lighthouse. It’s my favorite place to unwind!
